About this blog

This blog details my research on the crannogs of Scotland. Crannogs are artificial islands which were built in lochs across Scotland from as early as 800 BC (What is a crannog?). My own research on these archaeological sites began in 2011 with my undergraduate dissertation. I have continued investigating crannogs, and the crannogs of northeast Scotland now form the study area of my PhD thesis research. This blog will follow me through this research, and keep you up to date with the latest discoveries, and my thoughts about them.
